1. What We Collect

When you create a shared link or short URL, we collect and store the following information for security and abuse prevention purposes:

• IP address of the device creating the link
• User agent (browser and device information)
• Country derived from IP geolocation
• Timestamp of when the link was created
• The URL you chose to share

We do not collect any data from users who only retrieve or open links using a PIN or short URL.

2. How We Use It

The collected data is used solely for:

• Investigating abuse, spam, or malicious link sharing
• Responding to law enforcement requests when legally required
• Maintaining the security and integrity of the service

We do not use this data for advertising, analytics, profiling, or any purpose beyond security.

3. Data Retention

• Shared links (PINs and short URLs) expire and are automatically deleted after 15 minutes.
• Security logs (IP, user agent, country, timestamp, URL) are retained for up to 90 days and then automatically deleted.

4. Data Storage

All data is stored on Cloudflare's global network using Cloudflare Workers KV. Data may be replicated across Cloudflare's edge locations worldwide. We do not transfer data to any third parties beyond our infrastructure provider (Cloudflare, Inc.).

5. No Cookies or Tracking

BY8 does not use cookies, local storage for tracking, or any third-party analytics scripts. We do not track you across websites.

6. Your Rights

You may request deletion of your data or information about what we have stored by contacting us. If you are in the EU/EEA, you have rights under GDPR including access, rectification, and erasure.
